Circular Economy in Construction

The course is intended to provide learners with a knowledge and skills for circular economy principles, methods, and practice in construction.  Learners will be introduced with concepts of circular economy specific for construction, along with possibilities thereof to improve sustainability of construction processes and structures. Methods of work processes, materials and tools will be elaborated, intended to achieve and maintain sustainability criteria and enable the learners to identify, select and implement the acquired knowledge in their workplaces.

•  Summarize relevant EU and national policy and legislation in the field
•  Elaborate basic principles of circular economy in construction
•  Specify key aspects of circularity of materials, water and energy in a building life cycle 
•  Summarize benefits of circular design, construction and operation 
•  Identify potential for business models for circular construction 
•  Select examples of good practice and case studies
